How to Get Your Teacher Ready
by Jean Reagan
This humorous new book in the beloved HOW TO . . . series takes readers through a fun and busy school year. Written in tongue-in-cheek instructional style, a class of adorable students gives tips and tricks for getting a teacher ready—for the first day of school, and all the events and milestones that will follow (picture day, holiday concert, the 100th day of school, field day!). And along the way, children will see that getting their teacher ready is really getting themselves ready. Filled with charming role-reversal humor, this is a playful and heartwarming celebration of teachers and students, and the perfect gift for back-to-school readiness or graduation.
Jedi Academy #4: A New Class
by Jarrett J. Krosoczka
Victor Starspeeder is psyched to be starting school at the Jedi Academy. But his sister, Christina, doesn’t share an enthusiasm for Victor’s newfound educational path. She’s horrified that her annoying baby brother will be there to cramp her style. While Victor means well, his excess energy leads him to spend a lot of time in detention with the little green sage, Yoda. Yoda wants to channel Victor’s talents, so he makes the young Padawan join the drama club. Victor is not pleased. “Learn to control your anger, you must! Successfully manage their emotions, a good Jedi can.” To survive his first year at Jedi Academy, Victor will have to make new friends, get on his sister’s good side, learn to use the Force, and hope the year’s drama club performance (Wookie Side Story ? Annie Get Your Lightsaber ?) goes off without a hitch!
