There are so many amazing books out there and we are excited to explore, with you, just a small portion of what is available. Each month we will spotlight two books, a chapter book and a picture book, that we feel are among the best for your children. We will also give you ideas of how to use these books in the classroom. These books are 10% off for the month!


Goodnight Memphis

goodnight_memphisGoodnight Memphis is a children’s book written just for the city’s smallest residents by Grace Skertich. It is illustrated by the very talented local artist, David Lynch. It features various Memphis mainstays that make our city so wonderful including, Beale Street, Graceland, Tigers Stadium, Children’s Museum of Memphis, Autozone Park, Pink Palace, Shelby Farms, Memphis Zoo, Huey’s Restaurant, Gibson’s Donuts, Rendezvous Restaurant, St. Jude, Orpheum Theatre, Memphis Grizzlies, B.B. King, Sun Studio, Peabody ducks and several others.


In the Classroom:

  • Goodnight Memphis is a good book to use  paired with a Community lesson, or local history.

 Follow Junie B. as she embarks on hilarious adventures in growing up. Junie B. is a kindergartner in Books 1-17, and then a first grader, beginning in No. 18. She is funny, strong-willed, and prone to misunderstandings and mishaps.




In the Classroom:

  • Random House has Teacher’s Club to help teachers use the Junie B Jones series in their classrooms.
