magic treehouseThe Magic Tree House is a series of children’s books written by American author Mary Pope Osborne. Divided into two groups, the series begins with the first half of books (1-28), in which two normal children from Frog Creek, Pennsylvania, are sent on numerous adventures and missions with a magical tree house in order to help free Morgan from a spell, solve four ancient riddles to become Master Librarians, and save four ancient stories from being lost forever. The second half, referred to as the Magic Tree House “Merlin Missions.”  In the Merlin Missions, Jack and Annie have quests from the ancient wizard Merlin the Magician.

my nameIsabella has a big imagination and wants to be the best girl she can be, just like her heroes. Isabella’s heroes include U.S. Astronaut Sally Ride, activist Rosa Parks, and sharpshooter Annie Oakley-but there’s no bigger hero than Isabella’s own mommy! This book encourages girls to think bigger, be stronger, and act better.

not all wear pink “Not all princesses dress in pink.
Some play in bright red socks that stink,
blue team jerseys that don’t quite fit,
accessorized with a baseball mitt,
and a sparkly crown!”

This book proves that girls can jump in mud puddles and climb trees, play sports and make messes—all while wearing their tiaras! Not every girl has a passion for pink, but all young ladies will love this empowering affirmation of their importance and unlimited potential.
